We’re ASAH, the Association for Students of African Heritage. ASAH was founded in 2006 by only a handful of people. Since then we grew into an organisation of 500 people. Our association unites students from different cultural backgrounds, different studies, different cities who share a vision: Africa, the continent full of opportunities!
Stereotypes and media influence how we think. This also affects our perception of Africa: poverty, malnutrition, political instability, wealth gap… Yes, there are issues but there is more to consider to get the full picture: six African countries are the top 10 of the fastest growing economies of 2018, Africa has the fastest growing population and Africa is predicted to become the most urbanised continent in the world.
We are convinced that it is important to tell the full story and we at believe that everyone, regardless of their background, gender and sexual orientation can and should be part of this movement.
Throughout the year we host different events such as the African Business Day, the Black History Month and Africa Rising in order to educate, empower and inspire! Stay tuned on this blog to read more about what is going on at ASAH.
